In early August, Lydia and I spent a couple days at the Kennedy Space Center which we hadn't been back to in many years. With the end of the Space Shuttle program, the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) is now open for tours for the first time since the end of the Apollo program.

A huge treat for touring the VAB was seeing the Space Shuttle Atlantis there. It will be prepared for permanent viewing at KSC in a new building expected to open in the summer of 2013.
